Visiting a Customer in the Jababeka Industrial Area, Bank Sampoerna is Committed to Support MSMEs in Indonesia

Jakarta, 6 September 2023 - PT Bank Sahabat Sampoerna (“Bank Sampoerna”) is a financial institution that focuses on micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Bank Sampoerna encourages MSMEs to adapt and grow through funding and mentoring support. In empowering MSMEs, Bank Sampoerna works with many strategic partners to provide continuous assistance to MSMEs.

As a commitment of Bank Sampoerna to empower MSMEs, this September, Bank Sampoerna conducted a series of visits to its loyal customers. One was the meeting between the Chief of Internal Audit of Bank Sampoerna, Nancy Suryani, and Ibad Ali Takrim, the owner of the Gehain Catering business in Jababeka, on Wednesday (6/9/23). The Corporate Legal & Litigation Head of Bank Sampoerna, Pandu Ketaren, accompanied Nancy.

Nancy said that the visit was one of Bank Sampoerna’s ways of showing appreciation and support for MSME customers as an essential driver of the economy in Indonesia. “We are very inspired by Mr. Ibad’s achievements in developing his catering business. We hope that Mr. Ibad’s success story can inspire other MSMEs to continue to innovate and develop,” said Nancy.

In a conversation with Ibad, he admitted that the catering business had just started during the Covid-19 pandemic. By becoming a Bank Sampoerna customer, Ibad can get a working capital loan and assistance managing his business. Now, Ibad’s catering business has more than 85 permanent employees who serve catering orders for various companies in the Jababeka area, including serving event needs, such as seminars and workshops.

Ibad also thanked Bank Sampoerna for supporting and assisting his business. “I was greatly helped by the support from Bank Sampoerna with business capital loans. It is an easy process coupled with excellent service. “Not only in the catering business, some time ago, I also managed to get a loan for my other business,” said Ibad.

Ibad added that, of course, in the course of this business, there were many challenges and obstacles, one of which is the COVID-19 pandemic. However, these challenges did not prevent him from continuing to run his catering business. “I often face obstacles and challenges, but I continue to instill in myself to keep trying, starting from improving the quality of service products to implementing service excellence in each of our employees,” he said.
