Bank Sahabat Sampoerna

Our Symbol of Identity
Bank Sampoerna’s symbol of identity is clearly reflected on the Bank’s logo. It depicts the three hands philosophy, representing the harmonious synergy among Bank Sampoerna, depositors who place their funds, and borrowers who receive lending facilities.

PT Bank Sahabat Sampoerna (“Bank Sampoerna”) was established as PT Dipo Internasional Bank on 27 September 1990, and commenced its operations on 9 September 1991 based on the business license issued by the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia through the Decree No.668/KMK.013/1991 dated 1 July 1991.

The Bank then changed its name to PT Bank Dipo Internasional and adjusted its Articles of Association in response to the enactment of the Law No.1 of 1995 on Limited Liability Companies.

In 2008, Sampoerna Strategic Group intended to acquire PT Bank Dipo Internasional which was controlled by PT Pahalamas Sejahtera. However, due to global economic crisis, both parties agreed to suspend the transaction. Yet, Sampoerna Strategic Group continued helping the micro and SME entrepreneurs by establishing a financial entity which was managed under Koperasi Mitra Sejati (Sahabat UKM).

In the period of 2008-2010 the development and growth of Sahabat UKM was significant. By 2015, Sahabat UKM which changed its name to Koperasi Simpan Pinjam Sahabat Mitra Sejati (KSP Sahabat Mitra Sejati) has already had 120 branches in Jakarta, East Java, Sumatra, Kalimantan and South Sulawesi.

Post the global financial crises in 2010, the acquisition process of PT Bank Dipo Internasional was resumed. It was finished on May 2011, Sampoerna Strategic Group through PT Sampoerna Investama acquired 85% ownership of PT Pahalamas Sejahtera and hence become the controlling shareholder.

Subsequently, based on the Statement of Resolutions Outside the Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders dated 28 December 2011, it was agreed that the Bank’s name be changed to PT Bank Sahabat Sampoerna. A new logo was introduced. The changes were approved by the Minister of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia through the Decree No.AHU-02080.AH.01.02, dated 13 January 2012, and the Decree of the Governor of Bank Indonesia No.14/7/KEP.GBI/2012 dated 22 February 2012.

Started from 2012, Bank Sampoerna collaborated and synergized its business activities with Koperasi Mitra Sejati to boost up its credit portfolio through asset-buying scheme. Years 2012 – 2013 was considered as investment and consolidation stage, particularly to increase human resource competency and development of information technology to cope with competition. At this stage the Management also persistently strengthened the foundation of the organization and the implementation of corporate values to establish a solid organization.
